Working Holiday visa (subclass 417)
You would need to be 18 to 30 years old (Canadian, French and Irish citizens can apply up till the age of 35) and have a passport from one of the following countries:
- Belgium
- Canada
- Republic of Cyprus
- Denmark
- Estonia
- Finland
- France
- Germany
- Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China (including British National Overseas passport holders)
- Republic of Ireland
- Italy
- Japan
- Republic of Korea
- Malta
- Netherlands
- Norway
- Sweden
- Taiwan (other than an official or diplomatic passport)
- The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
You also need to declare that you have sufficient money to support yourself as well as meet health and character requirements.
Once approved, you will only be permitted to study for 4 months and work for the same employer for 6 months.
Second Woking Holiday visa (subclass 417) (travel)
You can apply for a second working holiday visa if you have worked for a period of at least three months in a specified area of work as defined by the DHA. This three month period of employment must have been completed during your 417 visa, You must also continue to meet the other 417 criteria as per your initial 417 visa application.
You can apply for a third working holiday visa if you have worked for a period of at least six months in a specified area of work as defined by the DHA. This six month period of employment must have been completed during your 417 visa or during the bridging g visa period between the expiry of your first 417 and the approval of your second 417 visa. You must also continue to meet the other 417 criteria as per your initial 417 visa application.
