Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485)

This visa will allow you to work unlimited hours anywhere in Australia during the length of the visa. You will also be allowed to study and travel in and out of the country during the length of this visa.

There are two streams:

1.Post Study Work Stream (Approved for 2 to 4 years)
→Meet the Australian Study Requirement
→Approved for 2 years for a Bachelor or Master completed in Australia
→Approved for 3 years for a Master by Research completed in Australia
→Approved for 4 years for a Doctoral degree completed in Australia
→Your first student visa must have been lodged and approved after 5 November 2011
→Meet English criteria
→Meet character and health criteria
→Meet the age criteria
→Must hold health insurance
2.Graduate Work Stream
→Approved for 1.5 years
→Meet the Australian Study Requirement
→Apply for an occupation on the MLTSSL list
→Apply for provisional skills assessment prior to lodgement and approved prior to visa grant
→Meet English criteria
→Meet character and health criteria
→Meet the age criteria
→Must hold health insurance


There is a variety of criteria that needs to be met for the approval of the visa (subclass 485). In addition to completion of the appropriate course, you need to meet English proficiency levels, health requirements and character requirement, as well as age requirements and other time sensitive criteria.
